Subject: New to precision. Where to start?

East Central Kansas
I am new to the whole precision Ag thing. I sort of understand the basics and see the benefit and would like to start using some type of it for my operation. So where do I start? What would you all recommend? Do I need auto steer or will a lightbar do the job? Will be using in a 5240 CIH tractor. Primary uses will be spreading fertilizer, and planting/drilling crops. May do some spraying later with it, any spraying would be on pasture or hay ground. Our fields here are odd shaped with curving terraces very few square fields so how will different systems work with the odd shapes and curves. I would say my options for dealers are Deere and Trimble. I thinks that's all the questions I have for now. TIA.
