What a crazy world. No reason at all to think what's happening in India won't happen here someday.

The more I read and learn the less I believe in conspiracy theories. We get exactly what we deserve. We are just going through a cycle. Our prosperous past has led to our present complacency. Our present complacency is leading to future hardship. Future hardship will lead to future discipline. Future discipline will lead to future prosperity.

Our leadership and "the powers that be" are merely a reflection of who we are. If we are ignorant, selfish, and have poor moral fiber, our leadership will reflect that and it will be easier for "the powers that be" if there is such a thing to grow and manipulate us. If we are knowledgeable, focused on others and have good moral fiber our leadership will reflect that and "the powers that be" if there is such a thing will struggle to manipulate much of anything.

We get EXACTLY what we deserve as a whole. There are individual exceptions who get better than they deserve in the good times and worse than they deserve in the bad times, but as a whole, justice is served.
