Fairbury, NE (Southeast) | Think corn yield is being lowered more than you might imagine. At a seed meeting two weeks ago ext. agent mentioned that corn needed 6 inches of water from the current stage it was in (august 12 se nebraska) to finish. In my mind much of N iowa and Mn wouldn't even be this far....so even with 10 foot of topsoil the well may be going a little dry. Don't think the corn is just a tag-a-long imo. Kruse was telling endusers to get some protection on half their needs on friday. | |
