mascoutah, IL
Fringe areas will not plant a boat load of corn with 3-4 dollar corn. I used to believe we had to have corn to make money and beans were just a rotation. We havent hit APH here on corn since 09 while beans have just been steadily at APH or above. I for one will not sink an extra $200 into corn for a loss. I will taked my chances with less of a loss on beans. Look at the market today, the way beans are looking here we will out gross our corn income. Sure am glad we had to switch corn acres to beans just wish it would have been more. Just looking at new crop prices, $4.67 for corn and $13.23 for beans. Havent seen the market that lopsided for years to beans.
