South central Minnesota | It's called potential! It's interesting that the best corn was at the end of the tour into areas that suffered from the late spring and abundant moisture. Just pollinating corn has huge potential evidently but does it have the time?
Some of the interesting findings on this tour, even though we had what were benign conditions there still was polination problems to be found. Even though we are out of last years drought we are seeing dry conditions hampering the finish of this crop, tip back is being found but to what extent is the question. We haven't caught up. It's an uneven crop. We lost some nitrogen. There is still a lot of good corn around. Acres is still a question.
As far as the soybeans, some are going to see excellent yields, some of us won't, probably a below average crop but maybe we got a few more acres then expected planted. | |
