Subject: RE: Situation locally with southern crop

Sumner GA, Located in southwest GA,
Everyone here is full up, until this little rain delay everyone was pretty close. Now there is a little breathing room, wont last, but we had it for a while. Notice the basis on soybeans went from -$1.00 to -$.50 cents right now. Corn +$.30, was at +$.15 first of August, +$1.00 first of July. However, I suspect if corn doesn't get back to about the $5.50 range, be a lot of folks back out on corn for next year, especially the ones who have no facilities. Soybeans look to be the dark horse this year, if we don't have a complete disaster this fall with continued rain, I suspect cotton will fair the best, not a record crop by any means, but I think the price will compensate for it. MO. I bet there is still 1000 acres of corn in the field around here, quality going downhill fast too. Lots of sprout damage, I suspect probably see some mealy bug damage as well when they start back up.
