maybe this guy lost everything or is parents did and is bitter about it now that things have turned around.
Lots of farmers took thier own lives in the 80's and 90's because they could not keep the "home farm" together and considerd themselves failures. Farms that were passed down through generations were lost. I know several guys who rented farms (not land, farms) who raised livestock and worked thier butts off for years, retire with next to nothing beside SS. If they were farming 20 years later ebven on rented farmsteads thier lives would have been improved. Then you get guys (or irls?) posting crap like this, saying farming is a no lose situation. Yes some guys or even most guys in row crops are doing well but to say that it is a guarenteed profit is nonsense. | |
