Theodore, Saskatchewan | Pete, I guess I should not be so critical because it is possible. However I found that everything I read is not true. More acres would seem strange as a country that has had agriculture for 5000 + years would have a hard time finding new land. I would believe increased production would mainly be due to efficiency in genetics and fertilizer use. However even with this they must have found a way to have the upper hand on mother nature and year and year gives increased production regardless of conditions. Record production is one thing, like the record production of canola in Canada this year, but record production every year for over a decade starts to set off a lot of questions.
I am not suggesting any effect on price and so not trying to justify something in the end. | |
