| Fuel return check valve in bottom of filter base is a first step, use a stubby spanner so its not over tight. Check for any were that can suck air in the system as well.
I had a 6nz with high km on it and never any injectors replaced could not win with it in end run some red oil dye in fuel and then removed over head gear and keep pressure up on hand primer, found it was weeping around the injector shafts in past the springs. Had oil sampled and they were all good before this looking for fuel.

C15 loosing its prime
