Subject: RE: 144 bu nat. yield

Chetek, WI
Central Wisconsin shows green or above average and northwest Wisconsin shows the same. Central Wisconsin is a train wreck. Lots of late june to july planted silage corn. Super wet early and very little rain since. Our county (barron) shows above average and we will be below. Same with our 4 neighbor counties. 40 % of corn in the area is not tasseled on August 13. That spells trouble. The only way that corn will go above average is if the adjuster says that it is great to help the guy's average which happens in this area a lot. I custom combine lots of 130 bushel test strips that they leave in the silage fields that adjusters say is 200 bushel corn. Lots of prevent plant also and how is that figured in? As a zero?
