mascoutah, IL | Big rains sure didn't make a big crop here. I don't remember the last time I have seen this much tip back. About 25-50% of the ears regardless of hybrid or brand are tip backed about 2 inches. We really thought we had a hell of a crop coming. As rough as it started we continued with the rain and cooler weather but this stuff looks like crap. Don't get me wrong, it's not a disaster but I wouldn't call it average either. Kernel depth is also very concerning. We sure wont be pulling up the average. | |
