Northeast KS | I see they were killed in Schuyer. How did you get the Cattle Settlement Details if you didnt sell them on the grid? We have sold to Cargill and all killed in Schuyer, you have two choices , the angus american grid or the Nebraska grid. The angus american grid you will pay $2 a head for the data collected. Premiums run $3 certified angus beef, $1 for Sterling silver and angus pride, $12 for prime,$4 Yeild grade 1, $3 yeild grade 2..........I dont know the choice- select spread when you sold, I'll guess $6 so they might bid you $2 over dressed bids..... Discounts Guess -$6 on selects, -$7 on yeild grade 4, -$14 on yeild grade 5 .. over 1000 lb dress wt -$20(they may have raised that wt to 1050 been 2 years since sold on this grid)
Lately been selling on Nebraska grid. no charge for data, Premiums run $3 for certified angus, nothing for sterling or angus pride, $10 prime, the choice-select spread on yeild 3that they bid over dressed price $3.50 for yeild 1, $2.50 yield 2....Discounts Guess $6 on selects, -$6 on yeild 4, -$15 on yeild 5, -$15 over 1050 wt........
The yeild 4 & 5 can kill any premiums you hope for. | |
