Subject: Used my new capchur pistol...

Columbia City, Indiana
And it worked pretty slick. It said in the instructions that the biggest reason people have trouble with it is not enough practice shots, so I went out on the porch last night and shot one of the practice darts at a tree... it's still stuck there lol. Have to use pliers or something to get it out!

I walked over about 20 feet from the cow I wanted to shoot and waited for her to look away, exposing her neck to me. When she did, I aimed and fired, hit her right in the neck. The syringe kind of hung there and wobbled while the medicine was injected, and she ran off a few yards. I followed her and the dart fell out and I picked it up. Pretty slick tool for when you only need to give one shot. I gave this one 10cc of penicillin. She has pinkeye in one eye. The only problem I can see is if you had to give more than 10cc, you would either need to buy the bigger syringe or shoot the same animal multiple times, which could result in a rodeo, which is what I'm trying to avoid doing it this way. It says on the bottle of this particular blend of penicillin not to give more than 10cc at a time, so that's what I gave her. I may hit her again in a day or two.

My only problem now is, it says in the instructions if you are planning to store your gun for a period of time and not use it to remove the CO2 cartridge, which seems to me to mean that it will be wasted, or at least 90% of it since I've only fired the gun 3 times. That part is not too cool unless I'm mistaken about that.

So far, I would recommend this product. It's the Capchur 1400c I think, or something close to that.
