The trade makes more money in a flat market than it does being on the wrong side of the market. That was profound, thanks Captain obvious. So a happy trader sells options everyday in a flat market. The guys I know that trade love big moves and big profits and could give a rats ass what direction that move is or if the move is justified just as long as they got to the party on time. Most pro gamblers don`t go to the casino to play penny slots. As far as you being on the right side of the market congrats, you were due MR. wizard.
