I don't get that at all from the posts I read. There might be some calculating that goes on to see how different scenarios play out, but that is just strategic planning to play the game with the rules provided for us.

I see some people are thinking prices are going down and some think prices will go back up. But I don't know of anyone "cheering" prices to go down. They would have to be a sadist to do so unless they are over 100% sold already.

I think you might be taking a conglomeration of different posts and weaving your own interpretation of what you think they want as a group. I don't know of any farmer that really wants bad crops or bad prices. We have to deal with both of those at times so we discuss the possible outcomes. One of which you describe.

Whatever we wish for is not going to make any difference anyway. I can wish all I want for 200 bushel corn and 10 dollar corn and all the wishing in the world will not make it come true.

So your concerns about what we wish is probably misplaced.

John

No, they wish it happens to someone else.

rich79 - 8/1/2013 15:47 Im with you. I hope this market rams down another 50cents or more. The insurance check will be huge and the corn price will not stay down there very long. Plan on storing all bushels till next spring.

QUOTE]Wicket - 8/1/2013 18:26 No that is why we buy it! So it is wrong for me to wait to sell because the rpu that I bought pays out more than the market is now?

But yet I get chastised for promoting being proactive and forward selling?

QUOTE]CRJ - 7/28/2013 19:16 In the LONG run you will end up behind those with the cash to harvest and then sell if for no other reason than your higher costs associated with marketing your crop,ie options and trades fees. In the long run P=C , and the way to win the game is to have the lowest per unit cost. Sorry to burst your bubble but marketing is not the end all.

I realize there is more than one way to skin a cat (can I say that) but it just gets to a point I have to choose humor. If I'm going to stay around.
