Tain, Scotland
Small bags very inefficient. 0.5 ton bags are Ok with these bag lifters but 1t bags put a lot of strain on them in Europe most people use 600kg (1320lbs) bags which are heavy enough with two in the box and one hanging 10ft behind the spreader. support legs are a must. The bogballe unit certainly looks strong enough. The ones around here dated from the mid late 90's and weren't up to the job often bending.

Another method maybe to convert a bottom opening grain wagon with a hydralic driven auger and a long drawbar to pull behind the tractor under the fert spreader 6-10 tonnes of fert in the waggon long hoses driven from the spreader tractor. Just another option. You would need to keep it clean though as rust would take a hold or use a lot of Stainless steel.

Cheers BB
