tedbear, thanks for taking a shot at this...

The factory master switch (and boom switches) do work properly and show up correctly in the diagnostics page.

There is an Aux Valve wire with weatherpak ends that connects between the Aux Input module and the Liquid Control module. When voltage testing, it appeared to signal properly with the Master switch, so we unplugged the weatherpak connection and ran a wire straight from this output to trigger the solenoid on the dump valve. This worked great in the shop, but the problem when we went to the field was that with the Aux Valve wire disconnected between the modules, the Insight could not control the rate on the pump; it would just run the pump at a constant speed.

You should not have a wire between the Aux input module and the liquid module. The purpose of the input module is inform the system as to whether the Master or Boom switches are ON or OFF. No wiring from the Aux input module should be used as an output.

On the liquid module there is often just a connector for an implement switch which is handy for implements that are raised/lowered. In the case of a sprayer that connection has a jumper on it.

There are two other pins on the black connector that are designed to be OUTPUTS for Auxiliary Valves. They can be programmed to open or close a Master valve or in your case a Dump valve. You program the behavior of those pins as to what you want to happen. In your case if no product is being dispensed you want the trigger wire to go HOT to open the Dump valve. Your harness may not have a pin in those locations but it can easily be done. I don't remember which pins they are but Ag Leader or your dealer should be able to help you with that.

With this new information about trying to run the dump valve off of the input module I'm confused as to why it would work with all section switches off.
