Nw Iowa | I haven't made any new crop sales Jeremy, in the past I was always very aggressive making new crop sales. 2012 drought and the fact that I had ZERO subsoil moisture up until April stopped me from new crop sales...also stopped me from hedging through puts....serious backyarditis I guess....then rained and didn't get corn planted till mid may.....now I haven't had a drop of rain in over 5 weeks.......this has been the toughest year in my life for making sales or even implementing hedges.....mother nature has really made me a poor marketer this year. It just don't rain in western iowa or nw iowa anymore....started in July 2010... Then again July 2011 and has stuck with us. | |
