Subject: Mature levelheaded business men ?

Death comes to us all. Life's but a walking shadow

Somehow I thought the forum participants here were mature collected levelheaded businessmen (and women) who took calculated risks and made considered decisions?  You wouldn't know that from last two days of posts.

I might have done things differently but I made what I thought were reasonable decisions given the weather risk I faced two months ago (and still face to some extent).

The hysteria of the past two days is not helpful and certainly sends the wrong message to the endusers and futures speculators.  And nothing about the size of the 2013 crop has actually changed.

It seems to me that our job now is for each us to arrange adequate storage for our crop and prepare to collectively negotiate a fair price.

When I was a young boy it was my job to kill the chickens.  Once there was a particularly large and aggressive white leghorn rooster. He stood almost as tall as me and would come at you with spurs slashing.  So I proceeded to catch him, got him in position and holding his legs with one hand gave him a good wack with the axe.  His head came off but he got away from me and I can still picture him, headless dancing around the yard,  standing completely upright, blood spurting everywhere.

Every time someone says, "Running around like chickens with their heads off."  that's the image that comes to mind.
