Around here crop looks "Ok". Some guys got rain, some guys got too much, some guys got too little. By the looks of it I have fields that will be doing close to 200 and some that won't break 100. APH is in the 150's so "average" year yet again. Nothing wrong with that but definitely not a bin buster!
I have corn that hasn't yet tassled yet, and yours must be starting to pollinate. How do you determine yield at this point? Thought I'd go out and check mine.
Wild guesses. I have one field I planted pretty thick. 36k. Ears are 18x40. Haven't pollinated yet or filled. That field will "probably" make 190-200.
I have a field that was curled up 3 weeks ago. No rain since. The gravel spots are gone. That field will "Probably" make less than 100. Maybe MUCH less than 100.
We always seem to "average" south of town. Never horrible but never great.
Edit:
FOr those that will chastise my GUESSES, we have never had pollination problems here. We have 70 degree weather for the next 10 days so I don't foresee any problems either.
