Nebraska aka the boondocks | Exactly my point, volatility blows, is not the friend of the farmer, but the trader. And yet, now all our inputs are based of the "highs" which I am sure we all sold 100% of our bushels. Farmers want "stability." At the end of the day the question is, do we want the best farmers on the ground or not. To me, there is something inherently wrong with a system that does not achieve that end. And that is not where we are headed. This absurd rollercoaster of prices will only further thin the herd, and to what end? I didn't ask for corn to go to over $8, hell I almost passed out when it went to $4. Now we don't know what the hell price we should sell at. And for what, To prove that some guys can trade options?? Apparently some people think it is hilarious for more farmers to bite the big one, rural communitites to further shrivel up etc. A bunch of de sickos, I for one, don't want to see one more guy go out of business, it is thin enough out here already. |
