No, the pressure source should have nothing to do with what you're problem is. I had a garden tractor do this to me once, we had to put a "reactive steering" kit in it to prevent this from happening. Just curious, when you manually steer these tractors in the field and let go of the wheel, does your tractor's front wheels go straight or does the tractor stay turned? The reactive steering kit was just an inline electric solenoid that prevented oil from going back into the Orbital when the left or right spools were getting power. We put one on the left and right pressure lines. I'm thinking you might need that counterbalance valve block mentioned in previous posts. Possibly you're magnums were made with a different orbital?
