...a farmer sent out certified letters to all of his neighbors that he was goin 100 percent organic. This letter insinuated that growers could not spray next to him.
Could be that his inspector made him do that. My inspector asked me what precautions I had taken against spray drift...Did I put up signs saying I was organic? Did I send letters to my neighbors? No, I did none of that stuff. We have been neighbors for 4 generations so I went to see them in person and told them. That was good enough for my inspector but she could just has easily been a female dog and made me send out registered letters.
By the way I still ask the old neighbor how he did stuff back in the day. That's why I asked earlier how old everyone was. I think the older you are the more respect you may have for organics......it's just the old fashioned way of doing things is all.
