East Central Iowa
I see plenty of laws put into place by emotions. Not to start any more feuds on here, but does anyone remember the gun debate? Tell me that isn't emotionally fueled. I think it comes back to who threw the sticks and stones in the first place. You may see more conventional farmers throwing stones, but you are also posting on a forum that is dominated by conventional farmers. Look ANYWHERE on the internet, and its reversed. "wants to eat food with applied chemicals, don't you think they have a right to grow it?" That line is a big part of what the whole debate is about! That line read by most consumers is considered durogatory to what most people on this forum do. Additionally, many organic acres do get some sort of chemical applied to it, however, the statement leads readers to believe that organics are produced 100% chemical free. As was stated by another poster, its the misleading and exploitation of consumer dollars that becomes an issue.
