I have bought and sold quite a few forklifts, I have a GN trailer now that was special ordered with crossmembers 12" apart. That has been good enough to not break a board in about 5 years.
Before that I had trailers with 16" o.c. crossmembers and broke thru the floors quite often.
For a one time deal lay the plates down on the floor or you can use 3/4" plywood as well. Just make sure the plywood is all the way to the back and may need to use 2x12 on top of the ramps as well..... | |
