Subject: Re: Forklift trailer rental?

Sac & Story county IA
There are some real neat trailers to move forklift. Deck lowers near to ground for loading. For a one time deal, a plain trailer with adequate axles will work. Use a couple sheets of 7ga or 1/4 inch to spread the weight. Even park the forklift on the piece of steel and tug the whole works on. Forklifts break wood things real readily. Unless cross members are less than 12 inch spacing. I have loaded forklifts with long planks for low angle of incline and lots of blocks under planks. If you try to bridge much of a gap at all, plank breaks. Blocking has to be near solid. Sunbelt Rental has some trailers that drop almost to the ground. Small problem of being several hundred miles away.
