Straw behind a rotor combine is pretty chewed up. I baled some barley straw this year behind a rotor combine and the stuff was flying everywhere, even in "case".
I don't know how much yield loss there was, but it probably cost me $20-50/acre in straw loss, assuming a value of $70/ton. Just a guess.
