From my experience plan on about 100 acres to get it calibrated unless you have a scales on drill. I'd start with gates open and meter somewhere around 30. Scales are going to be the next modification on my 1890 just for covercrops. With the sloped hopper I cannot determine how much seed I am using. Always either short of seed or too much left over.

Edit: I am using the large soybean/ wheat meters.
