Cedar Rapids, Iowa
How many seeds are in the little hopper at the row unit on a CCS planter? My guess is that it is more than what most people would consider an acceptable transition distance.

If there are 1000 seeds in that hopper, at a 5 inch spacing on corn, that's 5000 inches, or 416 feet worth of seed. Also, blowing a different hybrid in before the hopper was empty would result in a gradual transition, and the first hybrid wouldn't be entirely cleaned out for a very long time.
