NC Iowa
I think the planter side of it is an easy problem to solve. Plenty of smart farmers and engineers to make it work.

What I can't wrap my head around is where will the information come from to make the prescriptions. With new hybrids coming out so fast, the proper testing for each soil type and condition can' t be done before they are released.

I have seen a 10 drought score get beat by 5 drought score by 20 bushels on my lightest ground (both hybrids from same company). This was the response I received from the company... "I received your email but I have been unable to find out how the drought scores are defined.". This isn't a small private company, it is one of the largest seed corn producers in the world. I rarely even look at the ratings for emergence, drought, population, etc. I don't have much faith in them, especially after that email response.

I believe there is more potential for variable rate then variable hybrid.
