This will take you several years to get under control. You have to attack the rhizome first and seedlings following year. J grass needs to be sprayed in late fall which is best for roundup to translocate to rhizome. Depending on your harvest date for the sorghum, you might be able to spray roundup pre harvest, cut the sorghum, then let the j grass recover and spray one more time in late late fall. You need to let the tillers get 16-18 inches tall before you spray. Follow in spring with pre emerge control for your area. If you can grow corn or soybeans you can spray roundup in season multiple times next year to beat it back. Remember to let it get 16-18 tall before you spray. Not much options if you come back with sorghum unless you have a hooded sprayer to keep middle sprayed. Repeat next fall and edges of field and ditches. This is not a one time spray. You will need to a multi year plan but you can do it.
