Subject: RE: Variable Rate Irrigation

Pasco WA.
I tried variable speed irrigation on a pivot last year. Liked what I saw enough that I have it on 5 pivots this year. 4 of the pivots are just using the Select panels with 6 zones. 1 is using an Agsence Field Commander. As for the variable rate irrigation with valves on every sprinkler. I am not interested. Too many years of fixing sequencing on corner systems. VSI is easy and inexpensive. VRI is expensive and complicated. I am not convinced that being able to change the speed every 2 degrees is any real advantage over the 6 or 9 zones that a Select panel offers. Just makes it more complicated.
