Henderson, Minnesota | The knotters go back to grain binder days. When McCormick and Deering merged to become McCormick Deering, they each had a patented knotter. They used McCormick's knotter in the McCormick Deering and sold the rights to the Deering knotter to anyone who wanted it. When balers were developed, they used the same knotter. McCormick's was used in IH balers and everyone else used the Deering. When Case took over IH, I don't know which knotter survived. but to my knowledge, even today there are only 2 knotters out there. | |
