Subject: iPad's with Bad Elf GPS locking up...maybe iPad overheating?

NC Iowa

We have been using iPads with blue tooth Bad Elf GPS for some zone sampling. iPad is enclosed in a gumdrop case and a RAM mount. We have noticed that as the day progresses, the iPad and software start acting up with issues like locking up or just kicking us out of the program for no apparent reason. The software we have been using is GIS Roam and iCropTrak with similar experiences.

We are wondering if the heat possibly has something to do with this, causing the iPads to overheat and not function properly? At times the ipads are almost hot to touch. Anybody else have any similar experiences? It could be our GPS, but dont' feel that's to blame....
