| I sprayed some beans this year with 24os PowerMax, 3 pt Warrant, & 10 oz of Cobra. We were trying to get some burn flash on the beans to see if it would improve yield. Along the fence row there were some tall GRWs, probably 3 ft or so that I hit with the fence row nozzle. A week later the GRWs looked like they were dead, but I have seen them come back so will have to wait & see if they die or not. Got a real good burn on the beans as two different friends called to see what we had sprayed on the beans as they looked like they were dieing.
Years ago I had a field that Common ragweed came up thick in late June , early July. The local co-op sprayed them with 13 oz of Cobra. Beans & CRWs looked like they would burn if you threw a match in it. Everything was completely brown. That year the field made the best beans that ever came off it.
As for yield response from burn flash with Cobra. We've experimented with it for several years trying rates from 4 oz of Cobra up to 10 oz. Results have been mixed. At 4 oz we didn't get any burn & no response. One yr @ 6 os we seen approx 5 boa increase in yields but the next year no respone. Last yr we seen limited burn @ 8 oz & a small 2-3 bu yield increase. This year we sprayed part of a field when the beans were small but saw little burning. Later, sprayed with the P-Max & Warrant we gt a good burn flash on the beans. | |
