![](/profile/get-photo.asp?memberid=19&type=profile&rnd=788) Oswald No-Till Farm Cleghorn, IA | Greetings,
I am thinking about trading up to a larger planter. I would like to go to 15" soybeans but am not sure both a larger planter and more rows are in the budget.
So, like I have done in some years with my current planters, I may very well double back for soybeans. However, my current planters do not have section control and are ground drive-transmission-shaft drive "replanting" a layer doesn't cause issues. I would simply shift my line 15" and every couple rounds fill in the rows.
As I think about a newer planter driven by hydraulics based on the coverage map, I have to wonder how well double planting would work or what techniques a person would have to use to achieve this with out lots of hassle with a Pro monitor on a new or couple year old planter. (16 or 24 row)
TIA
