Beans will always be the default crop. The nitrogen fertilizer is gold. Until inputs come down to reality corn will not pencil in certain areas....especially corn on corn. I have acres that would go to corn no matter what but the balance will go back some beans and wheat.
What I'm asking is,
If corn is <$4 and it STILL is the best return/acre (inputs will eventually come down some, N already is) what are you gonna do?
For years and years $2 corn was the best return/acre. It wasn't a good return but it was the least ugly.
The "least ugly" contest will likely happen again at some point.
