I assume those were not your kids you had to pay? Or, was the cost for the hoes?
I don't remember any pay when we walked beans. It was never dare discussed or asked, nor expected. I don't remember marestail being invented yet then, but the stinky velvetleaf & huge GRWs would slow you up. If they didn't, you coud beat on the milkweeds for a while.
