WC Indiana | I am just north of I-70 in west central Indiana in an area where maybe 1 in 300 fields gets fall Nh3. I did some about 3 years ago and it was the best corn that field ever produced. I did about 1/2 my acreage last fall and did some deep nitrate testing a few weeks ago to see what was left. There was no significant difference between the fall or spring NH3 app in terms of available N.
They had several areas recommending no more N but I was too chicken and came back and sidedressed another 50 lbs of NH3 on all the corn. | |
