Morris, IL | I will just assume that a nutrient that can be lost before your plant needs it in July has no business going on in OCT or NOV. I'll second that. Nothing wrong with NH3 (it can be sidedressed) but N in general has no business being in the ground in november. I know for a fact that N is Corn's single most limiting essential nutrient, it is also one of the two main leachable nutrients, and we (general term as farmers) are putting it on 6 months before corn plant will ever begin using it. As far as a cost and point of view, nothing is much better then little with planter (maybe 1/3 tops) and remaining sidedressed at some point using some product. I like NH3, it's stable, it's cheap, and i don't need a small crew of guys in tanker trucks to run Nh3 all day.
