Holy Fritos!!!

I had some 12" RYE and had to spray it 3 times to get it killed. That is amazing!

Looks good. Curious on Nitrogen as well.

In my experience, small rye and big wheat are both real hard to kill. Small and big is relative- but I've found rye under a foot tall to be very problematic to get dead. May be more to that than simply height, as its still pretty cool and the days are shorter when fall seeded rye would be under a foot tall "here". Regardless, I've applied 40 + ozs of glyphosate with AMS and a double dose of surfactant on 8" rye and had to respray. Maybe around 50% killed. Same year, a few weeks later, sprayed a pint of glypho along with AMS and a double shot of surfactant (both times, 5 gpa of H2O as a carrier) and had extremely good results. Its either the height of the rye or the warmer temps, not sure. The other thing I noticed is that rye is almost exactly like many weeds in that if you hurt it but don't kill it, it'll be sick enough to not be real receptive to any chem apps afterwards. But, it'll still be healthy enough to keep growing.
