THAT is where the biggest problems (or rewards if you're on that side of the insurance equation) lie. When Central Iowa plants 2% more acres, it's just more good producing ground that goes back into production. When Southern Iowa/Northern Missouri put 20% more acres into production, it's ground that will only produce at these insurance guarantees. They won't cash flow 2 years out of 10 without crop insurance. And don't think for a minute that many of these guys care about APH. It resets with a new renter, XYZ Farms will rent it after ABC Farms is going to take the "base" hit, both have the same family involved and are also agents for crop insurance. |
