I made one a few years ago. Have never had to use it, so I guess it is doing OK.

Mine is mounted on the grain cart tractor's rockbox.

The tank is 55 gallon.

The pump is a Ace 204 hydraulic.
Pump is hooked to the Power Beyond on the tractor. I do not want a SCV lever kicking out when I want water pressure.
There is a ball valve at the pump to shut off the oil flow.

There is about 20' of 3/4" hose. at the business end a 1/2" ball valve. Then a 1/4" nipple about 3" long.
Screwed on the end is a Milford male air coupling.

Thru the Milford end it will run over 5 minutes. By unscrewing the Milford end you get a larger volume of water, it will run a minute and 20 seconds thru the nipple.

Thru the Milford end it will shoot water over 40'. Thru the 1/4" the distance is reduced, but still over 30'.

There is a ball valve on the suction line. It is keep shut. In the suction hose, pump and line is RV antifreeze.

It you have a fire you need Lots of water NOW. Not three gallon per minute.

Got the soybeans in this morning early. Ran out of seed last evening about 18:00 hours. Just a couple acres to go.
Was getting worried seeing the call for rain all day today.

Do not think I have ever got done before so many people who often finish well before me.
But I do not have many to do.

Still a lot to plant around here.

Trying to rain now. And there is some coming down.

That is pretty much what I am thinking of doing, just gonna mount it on the cart instead. Thanks for the pictures and thanks to everyone else who had helpful input.
