just overall appearance will tell you if it's had care or needs help, if the pickup isn't banged up to bad. They do have issues with bearings on upper roller and forming rollers. Also if it had a wide low profile pickup that makes big windrows easy and nicer bales, but standard should work fine. Keep belts in good condition Nice baler I like the size
