| Before everyone gets too comfortable with what a safe can protect, we also had a house fire where a more expensive safe failed. Paint was still good, and the dial still worked. It also went to the basement and was pulled out the next day with the excavator. It was replaced with a free door as we built a true fireproof room in the new house. Contents were destroyed.
