Are you using the SMS version of AFS Software or the Farm Works version? If you are using the SMS version of AFS you go to Tools > Management Item Editor > Product. You'll then go to 'add new' and enter the name of the variety along with any other attributes you'd like to add. Tried manually creating variety maps last year with no luck. If you figure out how to do it let me know. Thanks.
