![](/profile/get-photo.asp?memberid=32720&type=profile&rnd=292) SE Michigan | The only time I can remember since back in the 1950's that I have driven completely around a field was when I was setting my boundary's. I have used the same A-B lines for at least 5 years and some of them are in the middle of the field and not near a side. Most of my fields do not have a straight side so no matter what I do I have point rows (odd rows or what ever you may call them).
I plant 4 passes of head lands on one end when I first enter field then plant along one side (manually) and then 4 passes of head lands on other end then plant 2nd pass next to edge and then start following guidance lines. My sprayer covers 3 passes of planter so I plant two passes next to edge of field manually. Where I have A-B line next to edge of field it is on the second pass next to edge of field.
I have set A-B lines in every field and use them year after year and use them with planter, sprayer, and combine.
