EC Alberta | The OmniStar G2 option is very attractive. With our current hardware to get to that level would cost basically the same amount as the E Pro and Smartsteer did new, because we would need: (figures are approx. and not exactly apples to apples)
Phoenix 300 unlocked to OmniStar - $5400
Phoenix 300 GLONASS upgrade - $970
OmniStar G2 subscription - $800 (approx.)
Total: $7170
If we went with the Trimble AG372 GNSS receiver
AG372 GNSS receiver unlocked to WAAS with GLONASS - $3300
Adapter cable if necessary - $200??
RangePoint RTX subscription - $250 (approx.)
Total: $3750
We could outfit both outfits with the Trimble external receivers (on RangePoint RTX) for about the same price as one outfit with the upgraded Raven hardware. And I can find any information whether or not the Phoenix 300 is even capable of OmniStar G2. If RangePoint RTX did not work for some reason, the AG372 could be unlocked to OmniStar for $2000-$2500, to access the G2 signal, plus subscription. That would bring the total cost per outfit to $6550 - $7050 depending on unlock price. So basically the exact same price either way to G2.
