SE MN | I've tried several different approaches for this. Tried the smarth path in the ranger ahead of time, but it picks of every little wiggle. Wasn't happy with the results. This year I used the ranger to mark field boundaries. Then in SMS deleted all of the additional "points" along the boundary so that the edge was a straight line. In SMS, you can then create straight A-B lines and optimize for an edge. You can also select small areas if you have fields with multiple edges. This actually worked really when for me this year, but I will say that we are lucky to have very "square" fields. Also this year I discovered when using a Smart pass guidance line, you can load several different straight ab patterns at one time. Then quickly toggle through them as you make your way around the field planting headlands. Big time saver. | |
