Driftless SW Wisconsin

Looks good.

Comments on the 7100 planter: make sure you level that planter when you hit the field - top link looks like it will need to be extended once the tractor sinks in a bit. Set gage wheels for 20" toolbar height then level the frame (NOT the parallel links!) once you are in the field and ready to plant.

And depending on what type tillage you are going into, those standard JD7000/7100 down pressure springs are likely insufficient unless you are going into potting soil.  Easiest thing to do is to add some deadweight to each row unit frame behind the seed boxes in order to keep the planter on the depth stops.  No row cleaners? The ROI on them is usually very good, again depending on what you are planting into, ESPECIALLY with a 7000/7100 with no rockers in the gage wheels. Simple faceplate mounted row cleaners can be very helpful even in worked ground by providing a smoother, level surface for the gage wheels to run on.

You put a lot of work and $$ into the tractor. The planter is as critical if not more so. Planters just aren't as sexy as tractors....

Welcome to row crops!

Maybe we need a country song with lyrics "she thinks my planter's sexy"  ?? ;-)
